Welding documentation, reimagined.

WeldSuite is the modern welding management platform from MIGAL.CO. From creating master data through the pWPS, the RWT (procedure qualification test weld) to the finished WPQR – including ASME IX, AWS D1.1, welder management and welding cost calculation – all in a single, web-based software. Developed from over 15 years of experience with WPS-Maker 2.

WHAT IS WELDSUITE?

A digital platform for all your welding documentation – from draft to approval.

Welding procedure specifications, procedure qualifications, welder master data, qualifications – in many companies this information is today scattered across Excel spreadsheets, Word documents, printed binders and outdated standalone programs. The result: duplicate data maintenance, expired qualifications, audit stress and costly errors.

WeldSuite solves this. A clearly defined process guides you through the entire qualification workflow: create master data → create pWPS → RWT(procedure qualification test weld) → create WPQR. Each of these documents passes through the same four-stage status workflow from "Draft" to "Approved" – with signature, timestamp and a complete audit log.

  • Web-based. Operated in the browser, installed locally or on your server.

  • Standard-compliant. EN ISO 15609 & 15614, ASME IX (QW-482 & QW-483), AWS D1.1, ISO 9606, ISO 14732.

  • Migration-friendly. Existing WPS-Maker 2 files (.wpsx) can be imported.

  • Secure & compliant. AES-256 database encryption, complete audit log, automatic backups.

KEY FEATURES

Everything a modern welding department needs.

WeldSuite combines ten core functions in a single interface – instead of spreading them across multiple tools.

  • EN ISO 15609-1

  • EN ISO 15614-1 to -8

  • EN ISO 9606-1

  • EN ISO 9606-2 to -5

JOINT DESIGN ENGINE

Unlike static libraries, WeldSuite draws every weld geometry parametrically: you enter plate thickness, included angle, root face and root gap – and the software generates a true-to-scale, fully dimensioned sketch. Range values (e.g. „gap 2-4 mm“) are also possible; the display is geometrized to the mean value.

The resulting joint build-up is the basis for the interactive weld-layer editor: you draw each weld bead directly onto the geometry with the mouse and assign its process parameters. The result is automatically transferred to PDF, DXF and SVG.

5 weld types · butt, fillet, corner, lap, flanged-edge weld
14 components · plate, I-joint, Y-/V-/U-weld, pipe, T-joint and more
DXF import and export for integration with CAD and design
Weld-sequence drawing with automatic numbering

PLATFORMS

Runs where your IT is already at home.

WeldSuite is a web application with an embedded server – optionally as a desktop installation, Windows service or Docker container.

Windows

Desktop installer with system-tray icon. Also available as a Windows service (WinSW) for server use.

macOS

Native .app with dock icon and menu bar. For Apple Silicon (M1–M4).

Linux

Server variant as a binary or via Docker container. Optimized for headless operation.

Docker

Single-container deployment for Kubernetes, Portainer or a simple docker compose up.

Welding cost calculation

Material usage, energy, shielding gas and labor time per weld – calculated directly from the WPS data. Essential for quotation costing, post-calculation and continuous process optimization.

SAFETY & COMPLIANCE

Data your auditor trusts.

WPS data is quality data. WeldSuite treats it as the productive asset that it is.

Sensor box data import

Real welding process data – current, voltage, wire feed, travel speed, shielding gas flow – is recorded during the procedure qualification by the RoboScope sensor box and exported as CSV. In WeldSuite you import this measurement data with one click directly into the RWT: all layers, positions and process parameters are transferred automatically. This replaces manual entry with fully traceable measured values – precise, audit-proof and without transcription errors.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What IT managers and welding coordinators often want to know.

Do we have to re-enter our existing WPS-Maker 2 data?

No. WeldSuite can import .wpsx files from WPS-Maker 2 directly. Weld geometries, layer build-ups, base materials and filler metals are transferred automatically. This lets you migrate gradually without losing the WPS collection you have maintained over the years.

Do we need a cloud, or does WeldSuite also run locally?

WeldSuite runs entirely on your infrastructure – as a desktop installation on a single computer, as a Windows service on an internal server, or as a Docker container in your data center. Your data stays with you.

How does license activation work?

WeldSuite uses cloud-based license activation via the Soraco QLM license management system. After entering your license key, the software is activated online. Manual activation is also available for offline environments. Licenses can be transferred when changing hardware.

Can we connect WeldSuite to our ERP/QM/MES?

Yes. WeldSuite provides documented REST API modules (WPS, WPQR, ASME-WPS, ASME-PQR, welders, base materials, shielding gases, statistics, etc.). This allows welding data to be passed to SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, MES systems, Power BI or your own QM tools. The OpenAPI specification is included with every installation.

Which welding processes does WeldSuite support?

Arc welding processes per ISO 4063 are fully covered: SMAW (111), TIG (141-147), MIG/MAG (131-138), submerged arc (121-125), gas welding (311-313), plasma (151-155), electroslag (72) and self-shielded flux-cored (114). For each process the standard-compliant parameters are enforced.

How secure is our data?

The database can optionally be encrypted with AES-256 (via SQLCipher) – even retroactively, without data loss. Passwords are hashed with bcrypt, sessions are managed server-side. Backups are created automatically on start, on exit and at configurable intervals. Role-based access control ensures that employees only see what they are meant to see.
